Julia Hobbs

Mrs. Hobbs has been the Director of JHSP, Inc. for the last 25 years, dedicated to the correction
of communication disorders in children as well as adults. In terms of pediatric speech pathology,
her specialty areas include autism spectrum disorders, cleft palate and craniofacial anomalies,
auditory processing, oral motor speech disorders, voice disorders and apraxia. She maintains
a strong interest and clinical expertise in the treatment of voice disorders, specializing in the
care and treatment of the professional voice. She enjoys a long standing working relationship
with many pediatricians, otolaryngologists, occupational and physical therapists, psychologists,
psychiatrists, private school directors as well as speech pathology colleagues within the
community.

Mrs. Hobbs has numerous publications and has presented in state, national, and international
forums. Many of these presentations are teaching seminars, as Ms. Hobbs is committed to
providing a forum in which speech pathologists have the opportunity of learning and utilizing
current effective treatment techniques and thereby maintain the highest of clinical standards.
She has also given lectures to young clinicians entering the field of Speech Pathology regarding
the privilege we are given in caring for patients with communication disorders and our ongoing
commitment to professional excellence.

St. Johns Hospital Cleft Palate Team: Senior Speech Pathologist. Children’s Hospital of
Orange County: UCLA Craniofacial and Orofacial Team

Faculty Member:
UCLA School of Dentistry (since 1979) Orthodontics & Pediatric Dentistry.
UCLA School of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics (since 1985).
University of California - San Diego Cleft Palate Team - Traveled twice yearly to La Paz,
Baja California, Mexico for ten years.
